Magic of Animation week 3
This week we started to tackle experiments In different media. The planning of these animation sequences is crucial to their success. Groups work collaboratively to develop a simple story within their chosen media. Next week animation starts.
Animation week 2
This week we got stuck into setting up computer with cameras and trying out the Jellycam stop motion software.
The students were challenged in the first original piece to “Create Magic”.

Magic of Animation Week 1
Students have started this course by looking at the development of the moving image through time. The first session involves constructing a zoetrope, an old Victorian toy, that helps show the process of animation as well as gets the students to egg to grips with some of the limitations and practicalities of moving image work. Below are a few of the “films” that they developed.
8E Photoshop Work
The students of 8E have produced some stunning work for their Rock Star project. In this project students have to design a piece of album art using Photoshop. Through a combination of taught skills and through their own research to find interesting effects and go through tutorials to develop them these are some of the results. Fabulous work – well done!
Wearable Art Elements Ongoing
On the 18th of June the students studying the Wearable Art textiles Elements course will display their work in conjunction with the performance piece from another Elements course. Here us some of the work in progress to whet your appetite!!

Mobile App Design Students Critique Each Other’s Work
As the mobile app design elements course has progressed the students have started to develop their own ideas for apps. This week each pair is presenting a wireframe of their idea to another group. The guiding questions that the students have been introduced to help frame the conversation so that new ideas, positive thinking and blind spots can be identified. Each pair then presented to the whole class what they found Positive, Negative and Interesting about the other group’s idea so far.

Explorations Students Developing their Video Skills
During ICT in Explorations students team up to make documentaries. This lesson took the camera and sound techs through their equipment and how to shoot interviews. Students practice their shots and the all important capture of quality sound before getting out their with the subjects of their documentaries. Remember the best if these will be eligible for listing on the ISPerspectives media showcase site.
New Explorations Groups Begin their Documentary Planning
The last round of Explorations begins and a new set of groups are starting their planning processes for their documentary. Here are the last of the Nansen groups working it out!!
