Lord’s Kitchen visits Mercedes Me
Today the lord’s Kitchen class was rewarded for their hard work making canapes for the Y13 graduation, b y being taken to Mercedes Me. Upon arriving they were given breakfast and talk about the restaurants concept of teaming up with Mercedes. Then they were given a demonstration and masterclass in Ceviche making from Edgar the executive chef for all of the Maximal Concepts group. This was then followed by a tasting of all the different types that were made. the students loved them and many commented about how suprised they were as they didn’t think it would be to their taste, but the balance of flavours and textures were perfect. Next eek one of the chefs will becoming to Island School to work with the studenst and get them to design and make their own Ceviche dish and maybe even put the best ones on their menu.

Lords Kitcehn – Y13 Graduation Canapes
Well done to this class who were amazing on 1st June. They all designed and made 100 capes each, making sure we had 200 to serve the 500 guests at the Y13 graduation.
The feedback from the guest was amazing. Possibly the best range of canapes that has come from one of Mr Lord’s classes
‘Tasty’ style Videos
This week Lord’s Kitchen pupils began to publish their Tasty style videos on the lords kitchen youtuble channel. Hitesh Hemnani got the chef of the week for his which was excellently edited

Lords Kitchen – Tasty Video. Chef of the Week Natalie Leung (10W)
This week Lords kitchen were filming their videos to be submitted to tasty and the Lords kitchen youtube channel. There was I great range of videos being made, and I cannot wait to share them, but Natalie was given Chef of the week for her skillful and creative Rainbow Cupcakes
Lords Kitchen Signature dish (chef of the week Jeremy Kwok)
This week Jeremy won chef of the week for his Rack of Lamb signature dish which was plated to a restaurant standard. the class ere allowed to make any dish they wanted from the menu they planned a few weeks ago to showcase their skills and presentation techniques they learnt last week
Lords Kitchen (week 10) – Plating challenge Chef of the week Krishna
In this weeks lesson pupils were given a selection of ingredients along with a piece of salmon and some pea puree and were asked to try and design a modern style restaurant standard dish. The results were all very impressive and we would like to get you to vote for your favorite to decide on the chef/s of the week.

Creative dessert challenge – Adeline Tam (chef of the week)
This week student were asked to bring in their favourite fruit or sweet treat and then were randomly split in groups. They them brainstorming different types of dessert and how they could collaborate to combine all their ingredients to make a modern dessert. there was also all the usual cupboard and fridge ingredients t to help them. This brought a real mixture of success dues to the task and they ways students generated ideas and worked c\together, but the end result was generally very good. Each student was judged on their plating and the Chef of the week went to Adeline Tam – Well done
Pasta Week – Chef of the Week (Venus Lam)
This week all the Y11 students were amazing making homemade pasta dishes, whilst the y10’s were in their mock exams.
We had a range of Ravioli’s, Tortellini’s and tagliatelle dishes, but the some that stood out was Venus’s Pasta with Scallops and cherry tomatoes
A really great lesson all round and it was topped of by having Ms Leung in the class with a couple of her elements class, so we all got hooked up to heart rate monitors to see how hard we worked whilst rolling pasta. I burnt nearly 700 calories in an hour and half.
Week 5 – Mother Sauces (Chef’s of the Week – Natalie and Sonja)
Congratulations to Sonja and Natalie who were names Chef;s of the week for the 2nd week, whilst learning about the M5 Mother sauces. They made a perfect hollandaise sauce and poached their eggs brilliantly for their Eggs Benedict and then produced a luxurious e Bechamel for the macaroni cheese
Lord’s Kitchen – Seafood Week
This week students were challenged to fillet a fish each and prepare different types of seafood, such as scallops, prawns and squid . This was then turned into delicious seafood paella. The students that stood out this week were Sonja Medvedjed and Natalie Sheung Yin Leung, as they brought in lots of extra food and worked in a very methodical manner to accurately prepare all the seafood.
It was really enjoyed by all pupils and some tried paella for the first time and loved it1
