Food Lover and Lord’s Kitchen Curries
Many thanks and big well doen to all the Food Lovers Guide and Lord’s Kitchen students who helped make all the curries and accompaniments for the Quiz and Curry night yesterday. The Lord’s Kitchen class made 4 different curries, lamb, fish, chicken and vegetable and the Food lovers made samosas, pakoras, bhaji, naan bread and chapatis. They served over 120 quizzers and the feedback was fantastic.
A big thanks goes out to the students that also came to help and especially to Mwenda and Esther from the Y13 BTEC Hospiality class who came to supervise the service

Lord’s Kitchen (week 3 – Meat). Chefs of the week – Agastya, Aika and Onni
In week 3 of Lord’s Kitchen we see how squeamish the students are, by tasking them with jointing a chicken and to be fair, they all took to the job like pros. The all made platters of creamy chicken casserole from the breast, breaded baked thighs and drumsticks and deep fried sweet chili chicken wings. It was hard to decide on the Chefs of the week, but Aika was very quick to joint her chicken and then helped others and Agastya and Onni, showed excellent teamwork to prepare their platter
Visiting Dietitian talks to the new IB Food Science students
Many thanks to Denise Fair (IS parent), who very kindly came in today to talk to the Y12 students studying the new IB Food Science course. Denise has been a qualified Dietitian for 15 years and has been working in Hong Kong for 10 years. She gave a really informative and interesting question and answer sessions with the students on teenage dietary requirements and current diet related issues and trends. this will be very help to students, as they have just formed the IS healthy Food Group as a CAS project and will be doing lots of work around school linked to making good food choices throughout the year. Hope Denise will be coming back at some point later in the year to give talks to parents and other students, so keep you eyes pealed for more details

Natalie Leung – Baking Business (Bread and Butter)
Well done to Natalie who has decided to set up her own baking Business, called Bread and Butter, to keep herself busy and follow her passion during the summer holidays. She is one of the most talented young bakers I have ever taught and got the highest grade in her recent GCSE Practical exam. I would certainly use her services if I had a party or event that needs some sweet treats or a decorated cake.
