Designer of the Week

Riya can you tell me about your laptop sleeve?

My laptop sleeve is designed for teenagers who like band music, this is why I chose to put on logos of bands on the front part of the sleeve. I designed the front and back cover on photoshop which took a lot of editing, adding pictures and positioning them. After I finished designing the front and back cover, I transferred the document onto the computer in the textiles room, then printed it onto my fabric. I sewed everything together (I also added a zipper) and I was really impressed with the final outcome.

Ranen – featured student designer

I wanted to post this picture to celebrate Ranen’s work. We have been trying in year 8 to develop creative approaches to design and Ranen really responded with his clock numbers. I love the interlinked typography he has come up with. Additionally a happy accident with the laser cutter meant that he had to cut one part twice. He plans to use this unexpected extra piece to cheat a bit more 3 dimensionality to his outcome. Good stuff!
