Mr R’s Designer of the Week (so far!) :)

Some great work coming out from aika these past couple of weeks makes here my designer of the week. Not only is she a talented graphic artist, she responded well to guidance on how to maximise the potential of her design so that it performs well in the context and material. This shows a great willingness to be open about her thinking and is a quality needed for great design. Well done!

Deconstructed dessert practice

In todays lesson I made several components for a lemon and berry cheesecake. Students then could play around with designing a deconstructed plate of the dessert.

Christie Chong wins Cupcake Wars!

Week 6 of Sweet Indulgence and its time for Cupcake Wars again. Students were asked to be creative and use prior learning to design their own cupcake and the standard was high, but Christie was deemed the best as she challenged herself with intricate sugar work that she learnt in week 1.

Mr Roper’s Designer of the Week

A belated congratulations to Matheus in 9N who was my designer of the week last week. Unfortunatelyi only get round to posting this today.

What I really liked a it Matheus’ work was the way he listened and interpreted the guidance he was given to develop his idea. He created a very modern high tech look which will come out well in the materials we are using. Well done!!!!

Lord’s Kitchen – Fish and Seafood week

This week students discussed the classifications of marine life and  were shown how to prepare a variety of fish and seafood. Maturity levels were high as they were asked to fillet a fish each and ten they either fried the fish or used in to make paella. A very good lesson, which sees confidence levels growing
