Mr R’s Designer of the Week (so far!) :)
Some great work coming out from aika these past couple of weeks makes here my designer of the week. Not only is she a talented graphic artist, she responded well to guidance on how to maximise the potential of her design so that it performs well in the context and material. This shows a great willingness to be open about her thinking and is a quality needed for great design. Well done!
Mr Roper’s Designer of the Week
A belated congratulations to Matheus in 9N who was my designer of the week last week. Unfortunatelyi only get round to posting this today.
What I really liked a it Matheus’ work was the way he listened and interpreted the guidance he was given to develop his idea. He created a very modern high tech look which will come out well in the materials we are using. Well done!!!!
Mr Roper’s Designer of the Week
This week my designer of the week is Justin. He completed his lamp which he has worked hard to finish to a high standard over the last few weeks. The concept with the lamp is what is really interesting. Instead of just being a simple lamp the fact that the top part is changeable allows for kits to be made that could effectively change the lamp design and allow it to be flat packed easier. This is great design thinking. Well done Justin!!
Year 9 finished lighting
Well it’s taken a while but the lighting project is starting to reach its end with some final products being realised. These students have all worked hard to achieve high quality outcomes. What has been really encouraging is the commitment to quality right to the end which demonstrates growing maturity as designers. These lights are by Douglas, Aayush, Wing and Krishna.
Masterchef semi-final Juniors
At Lunch today the remaining 6 pairs of Y7-9 students battles it out to get one of the 4 places in the grand final. The brief was a creative dessert and tension was high as pupils got under way.
The standard of final dishes was superb and it wa very close for runner up places but Lucy Acheson and Ottavia De Rosa were run away winners, with their very creative 4 season dessert, making the chefs of the week.
Well done to the 3 runners up, where it was very close , but also in final at the Spring Fare is Jorja Townson and Charlotte Wong, Chiara Dadamo and Avantika Malhotra and Megan Lam & Chiara Postacchini.
