8F Pizza Buisiness challenge winners

Well done to the students in 8F (Johnson, Renee Lo, Renee Leung, Kit Kit, Denise and Lachian) who were the first winners in the Food Life Skills Pizza Business Project. the students collaborated to come up with a new concept for a pizza business. they each had different job roles tr design and produce their pizza business, including manager, chef, marketing, branding, nutritionist and finance and they came up with a Business called Pizzzazzz, with a brilliant Eater themed pizza. A special mention has to go to Renee Leung who showed amazing talent and understand of the design process in designing the logo and mascot Bob the flying Pig.

Lovin’ this!!

Love what Liam is developing here for his mood light!!  Great stuff!!  Just goes to show how a simple idea can have a dramatic effect!

Great commitment to design!!

Want to share this photo of John who came into the lesson today with a box full of components he has brought in for his lamp. This sort of commitment to the design process and his outcome is the sort of thing that makes projects happen. It is such a great thing to see and I hope he inspires others by this to engage as fully with their projects. Well done John!!

Designers of the Week

What’s a pleasure it was to come back to this group of individuals after soanynweeks away. What was fabulous to return to was an amazing level of engagement with their projects. All the students had either brought something in or had undertaken further independent research and really pushed their design thinking forward. So this week I would like to celebrate this whole class!  Nice job everyone and keep it up!!

Mr R’s Designer of the Week

I’m really happy to be able to have another designer of the week to celebrate. This week’s comes from my year 8 class – Hani. Hani produced a great clock design that really cleverly used shape and colour to create a very 3D effect in his design. I really look forward to seeing this one get made!!  See for yourselves.

Mr R’s Designer of the Week

Well it is actually more like designer of the “term so far” remiss as I have been in my celebrating if individual work. So it is nice to be able to celebrate once again Wenxi’s work.  This young lady shows a great deal of technical and creative skill in her work and an intuitive understanding of process. Her development of her speaker grill to the point where it can be cut by the laser cutter exemplifies this. Well done Wenxi!

Star solderer!!

Well done Mia!! Got to grips with soldering like a fully fledged professional!  Great stuff!!

Mr R’s Designer of the Week

A late entry for this weeks designer of the week which should have been done for last week. Anyway better late than never and I want to highlight Tiffany’s work this week. Tiffany has in fact got a lot of talents as a designer. An incredible eye for detail being one of them. Here she admirably demonstrates this in the design of her lamp. She has developed a beautifully detailed pattern that she took into illustrator to be laser cut. I am really excited to see how this turns out, especially when it lights up!!

Some great Album art coming on in year 8

quick

Post to share this work by Lorenzo in 8w. It just one example of some excellent photoshop work coming out of the years 8’s at the moment. I really like what Lorenzo has developed in terms of the text typography for his work and that is one-off the reasons to feature it here. Next week will be the final week of this project so more of these outcomes will follow.

MrR’s Designernof the week

i really liked what Rachel has done with her clock design here. The use of the hand positions as time indicators is a nice piece of design. I like her colour choices here as well. This image doesn’t show he whole drain off as there is a white background. Hopefully we will follow up with  A photo of the actual clock when finished.
